Jag Bag Update

I have noticed that I get quite a few hits on my blog concerning the Jag Bag silk liners. So, I figured I would post a little update on them.

As some may know by now, if you type in “Jag Bag” in the search browser and then go to the Jag Bag site, this is what you get:

JAG BAGS

SILK SLEEPING BAG LINERS
Made in New Zealand

The owners of Jagbags, Jackie and Boyd Gardiner, having decided to retire have sold the business to Paul Roberts the owner of Scottish based website http://www.terrevistatrails.com. Paul has been selling Jagbags for a number of years and has worked very closely with the Jagbag team.

Jackie, Boyd, Jenny and Pam would like to thank the many customers from all over the world who have bought a Jagbag product. They have made made many friends while their products have, literally, been used all over the world.

Paul will be relocating the business to Edinburgh, Scotland where he’ll continue to provide the excellent customer service and high quality products that are the Jagbags trademark.

There will be a new Jagbags website coming online soon so please check back regularly. In the meantime Paul will continue to sell the range of Jagbag silk sleeping bag liners, pillow cases and money belts from his website at:

www.TerreVistaTrails.com

and he is happy to ship anywhere in the world. Please get in touch if you have any queries or questions

Thank you all again!

And this pretty much sums it up. I will add that soon after Jag Bags sold their business to Paul, he (Paul) left a comment on my review of the Jag Bags that I own here on my site. This is his comment (which can also be read on my Jag Bag review page):

Hi Stick,

You did a pretty good writeup about Jag Bag silk sleeping bag liners a while ago. I’ve just bought the Jag Bags business from Jackie Gardiner and will be making them in and selling them from Scotland in 2011. There will be no changes to the styles, type of silk or colours. I’ve been selling Jagbags for a few years from my own travel site at http://www.terrevistatrails.com and worked very closely with Jackie and her team.

There will be a Jagbags UK website coming very shortly and I’d like to include this blog post plus a link back to your site. I will make it very clear the post refers to the original New Zealand product. BTW, I bought all the original NZ stock too and will be selling that well into 2011. When its gone, the Scottish Jagbags will be sold in their place.

Would you be happy for me to use your blog post again?

Regards,

Paul

So, if you are still interested in purchasing a Jag Bag, it is still possible by going to TerreVistaTrails.com and completing an order.

About Stick

My blog is essentially a record of my hiking career. Through it, I, and others, can see how I have evolved from a heavy weight backpacker, to a smarter, more efficient, lightweight backpacker. Through the use of video, still photos, and of course writing, one can see my progression, as well as check out some of the places I hike, and not to mention some cool, lightweight gear options. For me, my blog is a journal, but for others, I hope that it is an interactive learning tool to aid them in their own progression towards lightweight backpacking.
